Smart Grid Network Build Out

IGSolutions provides full project management services for the client utility partners during the likely multi-year build out phase. In a turnkey fashion, the IGSolutions team works directly and collaboratively with the client utility teams to address the following aspects of the construction phases: Outside plant, metering, energy efficiency, distributed generation, capacity and performance planning.

IGSolutions coordinates all phases of the Smart Grid project build-out, including: Setting security standards; managing sub-contractors and vendors; overseeing shipping and warehousing functions and time frames; monitoring field crew deployments and equipment installations and time tables; and auditing all network configurations and provisioning to ensure compatibility with design specifications.

IGSolutions tests and evaluates all network elements for functionality and adherence to intelligent performance standards and guidelines; this is done through “acceptance testing” which verifies Smart Grid’s performance. Once this validity testing is complete, IGSolutions can either a) transfer complete control of the new Smart Grid network to the client utility for continuing operations, b) develop a preferred multi-year management contract with IGSolutions to run the Smart Grid, or c) establish a hybrid arrangement whereby IGSolutions serves in a consulting capacity to the internal utility-operated Smart Grid.
